About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional leader with a growth mindset to serve as the Head of Premium and New Verticals. This leader will be critical in navigating ambiguity to set a defined strategy for Uber’s Premium mobility business in the United States & Canada, working seamlessly across diverse groups at Uber. They will bring a track record of driving large-scale project management, execution, and impact, and of leading teams and initiatives tied directly to the organization's top and bottom line results, ideally with experience building operations from the ground up. You will be responsible for evolving and growing product lines (including Elite, Black, Courier, and Taxi) that will drive disproportionate growth for Uber.

This role requires a creative problem solver who is able to #SeetheForestandtheTrees—setting high level vision and strategy for these nascent businesses while also managing the day-to-day excellence of each product line, from vehicle quality, to customer experience, to marketplace and cost structure management..

As a key member of our US & Canada Mobility Leadership team, you will act as a thought partner to the VP of the US & Canada business and the broader US&C Mobility Leadership team.  This is a critical leadership role with a broad set of responsibilities and high visibility to senior management.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the strategic vision and create a roadmap for the Premium and New Verticals Team including setting priorities, OKRs, and key milestones for the team to work toward
  • Translate our long term goals & financials into a cohesive and cross-functional operational strategy, objectives and key results that teams across Uber can execute against
  • Grow, manage, and innovate on our Elite, Black, Courier and Taxi product lines
  • Obsess over the customer experience and quality of our products
  • Drive strategic decisions by critically framing problems, taking a heavily data-driven approach to understanding them, and then closely overseeing the implementation of the solutions

  • Manage a high-performing team (managers and individual contributors); motivate them to continually achieve higher levels of business impact

  • Partner with cross-functional teams in the pursuit of sizable and realistic opportunities
  • Assess external partnership opportunities (e.g., fleets), and work closely with those external partners to grow our business
  • Effectively navigate a matrixed environment with local operations, product, marketing, strategy, finance, and other senior leadership

Basic Quailifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience running strategy, operations, consulting, analytics, tech, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unparalleled business judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish the highest value priorities and develop a strategy to pursue them
  • Quantitative data analysis, deep actionable insights, modeling, and advanced test plan design and analysis experience
  • High energy and motivational leadership is driven by personal influence and example with direct staff, peers, and senior leaders across all company functions
  • Experience working closely and communicating effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong experience managing teams
  • Strong people management skills - you set the tone for your team, driving towards results while also being empathetic to their challenges; high EQ is a must-have
  • Disciplined organizational skills - you’ll need to prioritize and manage numerous ongoing processes and projects simultaneously
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$288,000 per year - USD$320,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$288,000 per year - USD$320,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
