Manager, AI & Intelligent Operations

Regional Operations, Operations
Sao Paulo, Brazil |
Mexico City, Mexico |
Santiago, Chile

About the Role

Global Intelligent Operations (GiO) is building the intelligence layer that enables Uber to operate at scale with greater speed, reliability, and autonomy. As Senior Manager, AI & Intelligent Operations, you will own the operations-side execution and adoption of Uber’s Cognitive Intelligence Stack, with accountability for delivering autonomous capabilities across core Ops workflows.

A central goal of this role is to return time to operators. By shifting work away from repetitive, low-value tasks and toward automated and intelligence-assisted workflows, you will help reduce burnout and enable Ops teams to focus on higher-impact, more strategic work that drives meaningful business outcomes.

This role sits at the intersection of Operations, Product, and Engineering. You will lead how intelligence solutions are developed, operated, and embedded into day-to-day workflows, ensuring they move beyond prototypes into durable, high-impact systems. This includes shaping how metrics, signals, and models are applied in real operational contexts and continuously improving how teams use intelligence to reduce manual effort and improve decision quality.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong technical judgment, and can translate operational needs into scalable, long-term solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Own intelligence platform portfolio: Lead the development, operation, and continuous improvement of in-house intelligence systems, including metrics, signals, analytical models, and internal tools
  • Deliver autonomous Ops capabilities: Drive the rollout of automated and agentic-assisted workflows that reduce manual work and improve reliability across core Ops processes
  • Embed platforms into real workflows: Ensure intelligence tools are meaningfully adopted and used day to day, not just launched, by grounding them in real operator needs and workflows.
  • Partner closely with Product & Engineering: Translate operational needs into clear build plans, align on priorities, and drive execution with Product AI, Data Engineering, and AI/ML Engineering teams
  • Ops Evals and Sustainable Tool Deployments: Evaluate internal vs. external tooling, benchmark solutions, and guide decisions based on scalability, cost, and long-term impact
  • Optimize continuously: Monitor adoption, performance, and reliability, and iterate on platforms to improve outcomes over time
  • Scale solutions with intent: Ensure both internal and third-party tools are deployed with clear ownership, success metrics, and adoption plans, avoiding overly broad rollouts that dilute impact.

What You'll Need

  • 6 years of experience in product operations, platform operations, strategy & ops, or a similarly technical, execution-focused role in a global environment
  • Demonstrated interest in AI systems and modern analytics, with the curiosity and discipline to keep up with a fast-moving AI landscape through reading, experimentation, and practical application
  • Strong technical fluency and comfort working closely with engineers on data, analytics, and AI-enabled systems
  • Exceptional communication skills, both within your team and with leadership and partners, and a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Track record of turning ambiguous problems into scalable solutions with measurable impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with analytics platforms, semantic layers, or AI-enabled decision systems
  • Comfort evaluating trade-offs across speed, reliability, cost, and long-term maintainability
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to connect platform decisions to operational outcomes
  • Experience scaling tools or workflows across regions or functions
