About the Role

The Sales Automation Engineering team is dedicated to empowering Uber Eats sellers by building tools and automation that make it easier to sell Uber Eats services to merchants. Our mission is to simplify and optimize every step of the seller journey — from prospecting to onboarding — through scalable systems, seamless integrations, and AI-driven solutions that enhance both seller and merchant experiences. Every project we deliver directly impacts Uber’s top-line growth by helping sellers close deals faster and more effectively. As part of this team, you’ll have the opportunity to design and implement innovative solutions that shape how Uber Eats grows its merchant base. Your work will combine cutting-edge technology, user-focused design, and measurable business impact.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Design, implement, and ship reliable and well-tested features to our sales users
  2. Collaborate in a team environment with significant ownership and autonomy over projects.
  3. Collaborates with stakeholders, solution architects, product managers, and other engineering teams to define project requirements and execution plans.
  4. Create comprehensive documentation for the solutions, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational support documentation.
  5. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  6. Leverage AI-driven solutions to empower the sales team with intelligent insights, automation, and personalized recommendations that enhance efficiency and drive revenue growth.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. At least 4+ years of professional experience in software development.
  3. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
  4. Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Golang, Java, C#, or C++.
  5. Effective communication skills to interact with engineers, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, and describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  6. Working knowledge of API design, development, and management.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. MS in Computer Science or related field.
  2. Knowledgeable in software engineering best practices throughout the entire software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  3. Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Salesforce, and hands-on experience with cloud-based integrations.
  4. Understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
  5. Experience working in Agile development environments, with a strong commitment to delivering iterative, high-quality solutions.
  6. Enjoys solving complex business problems through innovative and technology-driven solutions.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
