Product Manager II, Applied AI

As a Product Manager on the Applied AI team, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering AI-driven products that empower merchants with insights, recommendations, automation, and support. You will partner closely with engineering, data science, design, and operations teams to ensure we’re applying cutting-edge AI technologies in practical ways that solve real merchant problems. This is a highly cross-functional role where you will drive both strategy and execution, bringing together user needs, technical capabilities, and business goals.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Define and deliver AI capabilities that improve merchant operations, growth, and overall experience on Uber Eats.
- Partner with AI/ML engineers and data scientists to design and ship solutions that leverage advanced ML and Generative AI, from conversational experience to intelligent recommendations
- Deeply understand merchant needs, turning insights from user research, feedback, and data into product requirements and roadmaps.
- Establish a shared vision across Applied AI and Merchant Product, building consensus on priorities and driving alignment.
- Balance innovation with execution by making informed tradeoffs across technical feasibility, user value, and business impact.
- Measure impact and iterate, using data-driven analysis to improve product performance and inform future investments.
- Clearly communicate product plans, strategy, and results to stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions, including senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related technical/analytical field.
- 3+ years of product management experience, including delivering successful and innovative AI/ML products.
- Experience working with applied AI/ML systems and translating technical solutions into intuitive, user-centric products and experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, from ideation to launch.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in a technical or analytical field.
- Experience building AI/ML-powered products ideally in commerce or marketplaces
- Familiarity with emerging Generative AI technologies and their applications to business workflows and user experiences
- Strong customer empathy, with experience conducting B2B or SMB-focused research and translating insights into solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing across organizational boundaries.
- A "driver" personality- constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery, while balancing the need for great collaboration.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$161,000 per year - USD$179,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$161,000 per year - USD$179,000 per year.
