Senior Finance Manager, Tech
About the Role
As a Senior Manager on the Tech Finance team, you’ll be a financial and strategic thought partner on technical investments, a critical area of Uber's businesses. Working cross functionally among the Finance and Engineering leadership teams, you will strategically evaluate new and existing initiatives through a finance lens to ensure delivery against key success metrics.

What You’ll Do
- Business partnerships: develop reporting packages to present to business leaders spanning across headcount, capacity costs and external purchases, providing insights, supporting decision-making and ensuring investments align with Uber’s strategic objectives.
- Infrastructure cost insights: build and scale capacity cost attribution logic to provide visibility into unit economics and infrastructure capacity allocation across on-prem and cloud costs.
- Financial planning: be a primary point of contact for all things finance and lead budgeting and forecasting.
- Business analysis/special projects: build business cases with engineering leaders to support investment decisions and help make trade-offs between investment opportunities.
- Develop the team: grow and develop your team while partnering across across the Strategic Finance to add to our team norms, mission, career paths, and goals
Basic Qualifications
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics
- A minimum of 10+ years in Corporate Finance, Banking, FP&A
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Prior experience in infrastructure capacity costs in the cloud and/or on-prem
- Proficient with Excel and Google products
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent stakeholder management skills; you are confidently managing up, down and across to help and drive decisions. You are comfortable to speak up, challenge others (be the voice of reason, rooted in financial acumen) and be challenged yourself;
- Excellent communication skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people and so your written and verbal communication is clear, concise and persuasive. You are a good storyteller and great with powerpoint;
- You have good business acumen and make it your mission to understand the business and the external landscape we operate it, in order to make your recommendations tailored and highly relevant;
- Strong analytical and strategic thinker; ability to dive deep into the weeds whilst never losing sight of the bigger picture; you can connect the dots across the various areas of your work to make relevant insights and recommendations.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$186,000 per year - USD$207,000 per year.
