Merchandising and Procurement Lead, Uber Eats Mart

We’re seeking a passionate, strategic, and agile Merchandising and Procurement Lead to head our procurement team. This role will drive category and supplier strategies, sourcing excellence, and cost optimization—directly impacting topline growth, profitability, and customer value. We're looking for a strong operator and inspiring leader who can influence stakeholders and build procurement capabilities across the team.
What You’ll Do:
Lead, develop, and execute category and selection strategies aligned with market trends, customer insights, and business goals
Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial terms, and oversee vendor performance to optimize service levels and cost structures
Identify supply chain inefficiencies, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement scalable, sustainable solutions
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Strategy, Finance, Legal, and Leadership to align procurement initiatives with company objectives
Operate with ownership and agility in a fast-paced, evolving environment—contributing hands-on and driving continuous improvement
Coach and develop the Procurement team in negotiation, business acumen, and strategic sourcing capabilities
Basic Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, ideally in grocery, retail, or e-commerce
Experience with fresh items and FMCG retailers is a strong plus
Proven track record in supplier negotiation, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing across diverse product categories
3+ years of people management experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance teams
Strong ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams without direct authority
Fluent in Mandarin and English
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment; startup or tech platform experience is a plus
Exceptional communication and presentation skills
