Technical Sourcer

Talent Acquisition, People & Places
in Amsterdam, Netherlands

About the Role

Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. You’ll need to take ownership, stay adaptable, and build with both urgency and care. If you’re energized by challenge and motivated by real-world impact — this is where you’ll grow.

As a Technical Sourcer, you will act as a market intelligence and talent discovery partner to Engineering. Your primary focus will be proactively identifying, engaging, and building high-quality pipelines of technical talent — particularly passive candidates — ahead of hiring demand.

You will partner closely with recruiters and Engineering leaders across the Netherlands, Denmark, and Turkey to shape hiring strategies, refine target profiles, and identify exceptional technical talent who can thrive at Uber’s scale and complexity. Rather than focusing on full-cycle recruiting or offer management, you will specialize in talent mapping, advanced search strategy, and long-term pipeline development across critical technical domains.

Leveraging data, predictive analytics, and emerging AI tools, you will design innovative sourcing approaches to identify, nurture, and activate top talent for repeatable, hard-to-fill roles. You will play a key role in influencing hiring strategy by delivering market insights, competitor intelligence, and data-driven sourcing recommendations that elevate both quality and speed.

What You’ll Do

  • Solve high-impact sourcing challenges across competitive Netherlands, Denmark, and Turkey markets, identifying and engaging top technical talent for Engineering roles.
  • Engage and convert top passive talent by uncovering candidate motivations and strategically aligning their skills and aspirations with Uber’s most impactful technical challenges, effectively influencing both candidates and hiring stakeholders.
  • Translate business strategy into hiring strategy by developing a strong understanding of the supported organization (Regional, Line of Business, etc.) and how it connects to Uber’s broader goals.
  • Navigate ambiguity and evolving priorities by partnering closely with hiring managers to refine target profiles and continuously adapt strategies using real-time market insights.
  • Build and scale diverse talent pipelines through multi-channel sourcing strategies (LinkedIn, sourcing sessions, CRM, internal tools, events), ensuring representation of diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience by setting clear expectations, communicating transparently, and acting as a trusted ambassador for Uber Engineering.
  • Own the sourcing lifecycle end-to-end — from market research and first outreach through qualification and handoff — maintaining a high bar for quality and excellence.
  • Leverage data and market intelligence to inform and influence senior stakeholders by proactively analyzing hiring metrics, identifying trends beyond individual requisitions, and translating insights into actionable recommendations that guide strategic decision-making.
  • Apply advanced talent mapping techniques to understand talent distribution and design targeted, scalable pipelining strategies.
  • Operate with urgency and long-term perspective, driving results while making decisions aligned with Uber’s broader company goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in proactive technical sourcing, specifically within the engineering space.
  • Proven ability to conduct structured talent mapping and competitor research, translating market insights into proactive engagement and long-term nurturing of passive talent across diverse channels.
  • Strong data-driven mindset, using funnel health metrics and sourcing performance insights to continuously optimize strategy and provide market-informed guidance to hiring teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outbound sourcing for complex technical domains(e.g., backend infrastructure, distributed systems, mobile, ML/AI, data engineering) across multiple EMEA markets - specifically the Netherlands, Denmark, and Turkey.
  • Adaptability and resilience in navigating high-growth, fast-paced environments where priorities evolve quickly.
  • Demonstrates strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence engineering leaders and partner closely with recruiting teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Comfort using AI-powered tools to enhance sourcing strategies, market research, and productivity is a plus.
  • Fluency in English required. Dutch, Turkish, or Danish preferred.
  • Has experience hiring in an organization focused on cultivating a diverse workforce.
