Driver screenings
At Uber, we see safety as one of the pillars of our services. Because of this, we require that all driver-partners have to pass a driving competency test, screening session and safety screening. If a driver does not pass all of these requirements, then he/she cannot drive with Uber.
Stay inside until you’re ready to go
The beauty of Uber is that you can simply tap a button and get a ride while still indoors. No need to hang around on the sidewalk - you’ll be notified when your driver is arriving.
Check the details
Ready to hit those city streets? Make sure you check the details in-app and get into the correct vehicle, with the correct driver! Be sure to:
- Check that the car colour matches the one in-app
- Identify the registration plate and vehicle model
- Confirm your driver’s name and picture
Plus, you'll be able to see your driver's ratings and profile - this means that you can get to know more about who's driving you with a single tap.
Keep your friends and family in the loop
By tapping the “Share status” button, you can immediately share your trip details and route with a loved one. Meeting up with friends? They can watch your trip in real-time so that they know exactly when you arrive.

Our support team is always ready to respond to any questions you may have about your trip or resolve any queries. Plus, you can rate your driver after every trip, by providing anonymous feedback about your trip. We review all feedback because our goal is to make every ride a 5-star experience!
Use common sense
There’s never any need to share personal information with your driver or vice versa. If something doesn’t feel right, follow your intuition - if you feel you’re in an emergency situation, always call 10111 immediately.
