Donate Books to Causes for World Book Day with Exclusive Books and Uber Eats

South Africa ranks amongst the least literate countries in the world. According to the World Bank, the pandemic caused a further plunge in South Africa’s literacy rates by 7% over the 2 year period.

This World Book Day Exclusive Books and Uber Eats are partnering to give South Africans an opportunity to contribute towards curbing this trend through donating books to Alexandra Education Committee. Read more about their causes and how you can get involved below. 

The AEC exists to provide bursaries for academically promising learners from low-income families in Alexandra for the full five years of education at well-resourced high schools.

Through education, they seek to empower the next generation to achieve economic dignity and to create lasting positive change for the Alexandra community.

Types of Book donations needed:

Please help the AEC grow their library by donating age-appropriate teenager books. They need attractive, new and worthwhile books such as those found on Exclusive Books’ selection.

Step 1: Log into Uber Eats through the app or website

Step 2: Set your delivery address to the following site:

Step 3: Select the Convenience icon that’s right at the top of the app

Step 4: Buy books from any Exclusive Books using the Uber Eats discount on selected books

Step 5: Get the books delivered to Alexandra Education Committee’s site

Step 6: Share this cause on social media with #ReadwithEats so more people can volunteer
