The Mother City is currently experiencing one of the worst droughts in decades, and we’re ready to help bring clean water to those who need it most. 
What if giving back was easy as taking a trip? What if giving back was part of your daily commute and you didn’t have to worry about going the extra mile? Ride for a cause with UberWATER!
For the next 7 days, we’re challenging you to ride for a reason – we’ll donate 2% of Uber’s service fee for every trip taken on the UberWATER view to Water Shortage South Africa. Imagine if everyone in the Mother City took a trip? You have the power to raise as much water as possible!
How does it work:
Open your Uber app between 12AM, 1 December 2017 – 11:59PM, 7 December 2017
Swipe left on the vehicle options and select the ‘UberWATER’ view
Request a ride as usual
What is Water Shortage South Africa?
 Water Shortage South Africa is a Facebook group which started to co-ordinate water dropoff points in drought-stricken areas all over SA. The water is never bought, never sold and never sponsored, and is only ever donated by South Africans to South Africans. 
Spread the news and let’s help raise as much as water as possible!

The Fine Print
To facilitate the distribution of all donations, Uber has partnered with Water Shortage South Africa.
UberWATER  will run between 12AM, 1 December 2017 – 11:59PM, 7 December 2017. 
For every applicable trip taken on the UberWATER vehicle view, Uber will donate 2% of the service fee to Water Shortage South Africa.  
The donations will be given by Uber, you will not be charged more than your trip fare.
The UberWATER vehicle view will be turned off once we reach 38 000 cups of water.
Successful redemption of this offer is subject to the availability of Uber driver-partners. Access to and use of the Uber app will be subject to the standard terms and conditions applicable to all riders who use the platform.
