We always want you to feel safe when requesting a ride via the Uber app. That’s why we designed our new audio recording feature, which allows you to record trip audio and share it with the Uber Support team should you ever need to.
If you ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe while on a trip, you can record audio directly through the Safety Toolkit in the newest version of the Uber app. Where a safety-related incident has occurred, you can send the recording to the Uber Support team.
Your privacy is important to us and the audio will only be reviewed if you request that the Uber Support team review it. Our team can only listen to an audio recording if you share it with us in a Safety ticket. All audio recordings are encrypted and stored securely on your device. Neither you nor your driver will be able to access them. To learn more about our approach to privacy, please see our Privacy Notice.
Audio recording is designed for safety-related incidents only. If you have other concerns – about a fare review or lost item, for example — you should request support through the Help menu in the app.
