How to make a payment from within Uber Driver App

When you see a negative balance in your Uber account, it means you have service fees owing from cash you’ve collected from trips paid in cash by riders.

When you receive a payment notification, you have 3 days to make a payment. Please follow the steps below to make a payment to settle your service fees:

Settle your negative balance regularly and in-time to stay on the road and to avoid getting your account temporarily deactivated.

1.      When do I have to pay?

Uber will notify you when a payment is due, how much you owe, and how to make a payment. You will have 3 days to make a payment after receiving the notification.

2.     I paid my dues but the payment isn’t reflecting in my account?

Payments are reflected instantly but it may take up to 48 hours for your balance to be settled after you make the payment. 

3.     What does the minimum amount mean?

In order to provide earners with some flexibility, Uber allows them to pay a minimum amount which is lower than the total negative balance. Minimum amount is the lowest amount you need to pay in order to settle your negative balance. Failure to settle the negative balance or the minimum amount may result in your account being temporarily deactivated.

4.     Can I pay an amount greater than the total payable amount?

No, you can not pay an amount greater than your current negative balance.

5.     How much money can I pay at a time?

You can pay any amount between the minimum payable amount and the current negative balance.

6.     When will I have to pay?

Uber will notify you when a payment is due, how much you owe, the minimum amount due and how to make a payment. You will have 3 days to make a payment after receiving the notification.

7.    How many times will I have to pay Uber?

Payment amount and frequency are personalized based on your driving habits and how much cash you collect from riders.

8.   If I pay the minimum amount then what will happen?

Paying the minimum amount will reactivate your account, however, this also means that you will receive the next payment notification sooner.

9.   Why is my minimum payable amount different from others?

Amounts due (and therefore your service fees) depend on how frequently you choose to drive, and whether the trips you take are paid for in cash. If you accept more cash trips from riders your negative balance and therefore your payment amounts may be higher.

10.   How long does it take for a deactivated driver to get reactivated after clearing dues?

Your account is reactivated as soon as  you make a payment of the minimum amount due to settle your negative balance, however, in some cases it can take up to 48 hours. Settle your negative balance to avoid any inconvenience.

11.   How long does it take for a payment to get reflected in a partner driver’s account?

Payments are reflected instantly in your Uber driver account but it may take up to 48 hours for your balance to be settled (that is reflected in your bank account or deducted from your payment method) after you make the payment.
