Driving UberXL at Hamad International Airport (HIA) – Qatar

Airport regulations:

You can benefit from increased demand by being online during peak hours in the airport. Below are the timings

• 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• 11:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Below are some guidelines that UberXL drivers need to follow while doing Airport Pickups.

1- Dress and hygiene guidelines for all UberXL drivers:

• Black or navy blue trousers
• White Collared shirt / Collared white t-shirt
• Black jacket or black sweater over the white shirt/t-shirt (optional)
• Neat haircut and well-maintained facial hair (mustache/beard)
• Dark-colored formal or semi-formal shoes
• Driver profile pictures on the rider app should reflect the recommended dress guidelines.

Airport staff will check the dress and hygiene guidelines before entering the Waiting lot.

2- Drivers must install a Driver Information Panel on the rear side of the front seat. This panel must display the following information:

• Driver photo (Should be captured live in last 6 months)
• Driver Name (as per Qatar ID)
• Driver Personal Number (Should be active all time)
• Name of Driver Company (Limousine company which is sponsor)
• Name of Used Application (All ride hailing Apps being used by drivers i.e. Uber)
• Vehicle Registration Number
• Contact Number in Case of Complains or Emergency

3- Always stay in your vehicle and let the Uber App open on your mobile phone.

4- You may be stopped from doing pickups if you do not follow the guidelines.

5- Always follow traffic signages, traffic lights and any directions from the Airport staff to avoid any inconvenience.

6- Drive carefully, form a queue(while entering or leaving) and give way to other vehicles as well.

7- In order to reach the waiting spot, always follow the route shared below

Airport staff will check that either Driver Information Panel is installed or not before entering the Waiting lot.

8- Make sure that your GPS and Internet is working fine.

9- In case of any questions/concerns, feel free to reach out to the deployed staff.

10- [For UberXL] Please note that you should park your car in the designated waiting spot area. If you park your car outside the designated area of the waiting spot, you will not receive any trips.
11- [For UberXL] Please do not go to the waiting spot unless you receive an alert in your App to go there because you will not get airport trips unless you receive an alert, accept it and then go to the waiting spot.
