Uber’s mission is to set the direction for the entire industry. That is why we have prepared the “Driving Safety Forward” Report, in which we summarise Uber’s activities in Poland and around the world in favor of safety: implemented technologies, efficient processes, and cooperation with experts and organizations. Our work on making rides safer never ends, so we constantly improve our technologies and processes.
But safety is not something that companies like Uber should work on alone. A dialogue between representatives of licensed taxi services, organizations operating in the sector, the public, and policymakers is essential. Transparency of procedures and Uber’s proposed solutions should be the standard and the direction other market players will follow.
Uber believes in clear and specific industry standards for safety, so we are calling for changes to the regulations that all drivers and intermediaries would have to comply with. Among the demands were the introduction of a Passenger and Driver Protection Standards Charter, the creation of an electronic single nationwide taxi license system, and the ability to share driver information between intermediaries.
