Making On-Demand Businesses Scalable and Sustainable With the New UberRUSH API

The next generation of businesses is being built around a simple concept: get your customers what they want, right when they want it. From fresh produce to doctors, it’s all available on demand at the push of a button.
But scaling an on-demand business is challenging. Even if you have a great idea and a talented team, you might be missing the logistical expertise or operational funding needed to grow it to profitability. At Uber we’ve spent years building a logistics platform that works sustainably for both the end user and our driver partners.
We want UberRUSH to improve the way things move from point A to point B, inspiring a new era of businesses along the way. With the UberRUSH API, developers can tap into Uber’s on-demand delivery network to improve an existing business–or dream up a completely new one.
With features like real-time tracking, signature confirmation, and webhooks, the UberRUSH API acts as a simple solution for companies looking to build or streamline last-mile logistics. Whether you need to power five deliveries a day or 50,000, UberRUSH can handle it with pricing that works for both your customers and your bottom line.
New API endpoints
For the UberRUSH API, we provide the following endpoints:
- POST /v1/deliveries/quote — generate a delivery quote, given a pickup and dropoff location
- POST /v1/deliveries — request a delivery by specifying pickup/dropoff locations, contact information, and delivery options
- GET /v1/deliveries/{delivery_id} — get details for a specific delivery
- GET /v1/deliveries — retrieve details on past deliveries
Upcoming workshops and getting support
We can’t wait to see what you’ll build with the UberRUSH API or any of our other products on the Uber Developer Platform.
To celebrate our launch, our team will be hosting a local workshop challenge in Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco on the week of June 27th. Come show off your completed API integrations for a chance to be featured on this publication, receive free credits, and meet our team.
If you have additional questions, please take a look at our documentation for more technical details, and our announcement for business use cases. If you have questions, please tag your questions on StackOverflow with uber-api, or mention @UberDevelopers on Twitter.
