Tomorrow will be anything but business as usual, and these UberKITTENS just want to get their paws in the door.
ON FRIDAY THE 27TH OF NOVEMBER, UBER IS DELIVERING KITTENS ON-DEMAND TOGETHER WITH THE SPCA IN AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON!
HOW IT WORKS:
- Open your Uber app between 12pm and 4pm.
- Request the “KITTENS” option in your app. Set a reminder to request at the purrfect time.
- If kittens are available, you and your friends will get to enjoy 15 minutes of kitten cuteness!
PRO TIP: Make sure you have an enclosed space purrfect for playtime.
If you’re lucky enough to request kittens to your office, please make sure your boss or building will be cool with the meows and that no one in the area is allergic. Having a dedicated room for kitten playtime is preferred.
It’s just a $30 “snuggle fee” for the best 15 minutes of your day with all proceeds going to support the great work of the SPCA Auckland and SPCA Wellington! If you’re smitten for a kitten or looking for a new purr-sonal assistant, just talk to the local SPCA representative assisting with your kitten delivery about adopting. When we ran UberKITTENS in the USA recently, we helped over 300 kittens find permanent homes. Here in NZ, we hope to find every eligible SPCA kitten a home!
Demand will be high as many will want to test the kittens’ skills (they are excellent paper shredders), so your patience is appreciated. We’ll do our best to deliver as many kitten cuddles as possible, but availability is limited! If you can’t get #UberKITTENS today, visit the adoptable kittens in person in Auckland or Wellington and check out the paw-ty on social.
NEW TO UBER?
Sign up with the code UBERKITTENSNZ on the day to get a free ride up to $30 or kitten cuddle session!
Note: Free first ride valid on 27/11/15 only in Auckland or Wellington up to $30.
FAQs?
Q: Can I donate more than $30?
A: Definitely! Let an Uber team member know once at the end of the 15 mins and they can adjust the donation amount. You can also use the ‘Split Fare’ option in the app to donate with your friends and colleagues at the end of your visit.
Q: Are donations tax deductible?
A: Yes, both cash donations and donations made via the app during kitten visits are tax deductible. You will need to arrange a receipt with the SPCA. Please notify the SPCA or Uber representative at the time of your visit to ensure your details are noted.
Q: Can the kittens play with other animals?
A: We ask that if there are any other animals that they are in another room for the safety of the kittens.
Q: Are the kittens up for adoption?
A: These kitties are SPCA ambassador kittens and most will not be available for adoption just yet. If you do want to adopt, just ask the SPCA rep! Adoption info will be left behind after each visit too.
Q: Isn’t this event stressful/dangerous for the kittens?
A: The kittens are being handled by knowledgeable SPCA staff and volunteers who are constantly monitoring their well-being and stress levels. Kittens will be given time for rest and relaxation during the day.
Q: We tried to order a kitten car and weren’t able to get one.
A: Unfortunately we can only make a limited number of deliveries to ensure that kittens are not out for too long of a period of time. We only have a limited number of kittens available from each SPCA, but we encourage those who do not receive a delivery to come out and visit the adoptable kittens in person.
