Highlights from International Women’s Day

This year, women driver and delivery partners in cities across Australia and New Zealand came together to celebrate International Women’s Day with Uber.

During these events, we engaged in conversations and listened to stories by prominent women about pressing for progress. Driver-partners and delivery-partners were also provided with a purple #DrivenWomen card, where they were asked to express what they were driven by, including their passions, dreams, and goals.

We encourage driver-partners and delivery-partners to display their completed cards in their cars during the #DrivenWomen campaign in the hopes that these would inspire other women in our community.

Attendees were treated to a brunch at Three Blue Ducks. Guest speaker Hayley Talbot shared her life story as an adventurer and Uber General Manager for NSW and ACT, Natalie Malligan spoke about her professional development journey.

During afternoon tea at Carlton Football Club, a #DrivenWomen panel discussion took place involving key women staff of the Australian Football League and Carlton AFLW player Kerryn Harrington.

Strive and Thrive founder Norita Omar and entrepreneur and prominent tv and radio host Kate Mac shared their stories of resilience with the community during brunch at The Old Laundry, before the event finished off with a dance fest.

A morning tea was hosted at Eagle Farm Racecourse, where attendees heard stories from Katherine Beresford and Jacqueline Toumbas from Real Women Co. and co-founder of the Social Good Outpost Elise Stephenson.

A brunch was held at Plant 4 Bowden, where attendees listened to speeches by Uber driver-partners, the Shadow Minister for Status of Women, Michelle Lensink and Heather Croall, CEO and Festival Director of Adelaide Fringe Festival.
