Adding QR codes to Uber Eats order receipts

27 August 2023 / New Zealand
  • We will be printing a QR code at the bottom of every Uber Eats order receipt (as shown in the sample receipt below) and prompting our delivery people to scan the QR code at pickup to ensure they have the correct order before starting their delivery leg.

  • We’ve identified an issue where our delivery partners sometimes grab or are handed the wrong bag at pickup resulting in our end customers getting the wrong order. We’re asking our delivery to scan QR codes on receipts to ensure they have the correct order to help reduce instances of this issue happening.

  • Roughly 6 weeks.

  • We’ve planned for that! If there’s no QR code on the receipt at pickup, our delivery people will have a way to bypass the QR code scan step and instead manually verify that the order is correct (by checking order ID and/or First Name + Last Initial).

  • If this happens, we prompt the delivery partner to work with your store's staff to find the correct order and have them scan it to verify.
