Uber Assist is a service specifically developed for passengers who need extra time or assistance when getting into the vehicle. This includes elderly individuals or people with minor mobility issues, such as those using walking aids or simply requiring more time to prepare for their ride.
To compensate drivers for this additional time, the following conditions apply to Uber Assist:
- Longer waiting time: Passengers have 10 minutes to get into the vehicle. This is longer than the standard waiting time, to give the passenger the calm they need. Contact your passenger early so you can let them know you are ready to pick them up. After 10 minutes, you may cancel the trip, and the passenger will be charged a cancellation fee of €6.
- Higher fares: Due to the higher level of service passengers expect and to compensate for the longer waiting time, the fare for an Uber Assist trip is higher than for an UberX trip.
What is Uber Assist TX?
In addition to Uber Assist, we are introducing Uber Assist TX, a service that goes a step further. This product is exclusively for drivers with an official TX-Keur certificate. This certificate guarantees specialized knowledge and skills in transporting passengers with special needs.
Uber Assist TX is designed to recognize this expertise. It offers the same benefits as Uber Assist, but with a few important differences:
- Exclusive for TX-Keur drivers: Only drivers who possess this specialized certificate can accept these trips.
- Higher fares: In recognition of the driver’s specialized knowledge and skills, Uber Assist TX has a higher fare than Uber Assist.
