Always first to celebrate their city, we spotted the first riders out and about today! What’s more? They have special treats in store for all Abuja Uber riders!

The ever dapper Charles Okpaleke, CEO and co-founder of Nigeria’s biggest and most successful nightlife chains: the Play Entertainment Network fired up his Uber app and was on his way to crush his meetings for the day! This bespectacled gentleman is all about convenience and glamour so we are excited to have him as one of our first riders!

What’s more? Play Lounge will be offering 15% off beverages to all uber riders on Thursday night! All you need to do is take an Uber and flash your receipt to the bartender to unlock this awesome discount.

On the other side of town, Adama Indimi, a passionate humanitarian who focuses on empowering young girls and one of northern Nigeria’s most influential tastemakers was requesting a ride to get to town. Within minutes, an uberX had pulled up and off she went!

We were also excited to see Abuja restaurateur and culture promoter, Sal Gbaja, stepping out of an Uber at her cafe which opened in 2007, Salamander Cafe.  This is the cosiest little cafe/bookshop and the go to place to grab a coffee or sandwich or simply sit out in the garden with a glass of wine!

Despite inhaling the aroma of her delicious kitchen daily, Sal is a fitness enthusiast and recently survived a week without phone, wifi, wine or caffeine! We dare you to try.

Never the one to miss a trend, Celebrity wedding and lifestyle photographer, George Okoro also tapped away at his Uber app with his faithful camera in tow. His work has taken him across many countries and with Uber, he has been able to get from point A to point B whenever, wherever! Tapping at his app was even more exciting for him as he could now use Uber in his own city!
