How to book your Uber ride in advance and stay on schedule

If you’ve got an important appointment or place to be, you need a reliable way of getting there. Doctor’s visits, flights to catch, important meetings and job interviews are only some of the things you definitely shouldn’t be late for! Booking your Uber in advance is a feature created to help riders sleep easy. That means less stress, less hassle and more time for getting ready!

How does it work?

Upon opening your Uber application, you’ll see a small car and clock icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Once you’ve clicked on that, planning your ride in advance becomes as easy as 1-2-3! All you need to do is enter the time, date and address before clicking “Confirm”. Then you’re all set! Uber will even send you reminders on the day of your trip and let you know when your driver arrives to pick you up. You’ll know the price, pick-up time and estimated arrival time before you even get into the car.

Can I schedule a ride in my city?

Ride scheduling is available in most major cities where Uber circulates.

How much will I be charged?

There is no difference in the pricing between normal Uber rides and scheduled rides – that means no extra cost for booking your Uber in advance! However, pricing is based on demand at the time of your order, so if you reserve at peak-hour traffic your ride might be a little more expensive.

What if I need to cancel my scheduled ride?

Sometimes life happens and there’s nothing you can do about it! If you need to cancel a scheduled ride for an unforeseen reason, there’s no need to panic. You can cancel without paying any fee up until 5 minutes before your ride is scheduled to occur. However, if you cancel within 5 minutes of the planned arrival time, a cancellation fee will apply.

Am I guaranteed to get a ride?

Uber will actively monitor all active cars at the time requested to find a ride for you but cannot guarantee a ride. In big cities and busy areas, there will likely be cars available throughout the day and night, but in the exceptional case that no drivers are available, you will be notified immediately.

Now, you no longer have to wake up or be ready an extra hour early in hopes of finding a ride. Uber makes things less stressful for you on its user-friendly application.
