It’s crucial to stay at home and stay safe during these times. That notwithstanding, it is equally crucial to laud and support those that are staying out, just so that you and your loved ones can comfortably stay in, protected.

To show our couriers and restaurants that we and you care about them and their families, we’ve introduced a feature on your Uber Eats app where you can now tip your favourite restaurant and your delivery partners.

Amidst the efforts made by restaurants to keep their operations running, the in-app tipping feature allows you to voluntarily add a Rs. 150 tip for your favourite restaurants. Delivery partners are helping us all in self-isolation access healthy food options and to appreciate their service, you can tip anywhere between Rs. 20 to an amount of your choice. All tips will be credited directly to the accounts of restaurants and delivery partners.

Ameen Al Thariq – Director, Street Burger –  The restaurant industry is deeply affected due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Many restaurants have seen huge declines in sales, and have either laid off employees or considered shutting down. This new Uber Eats initiative provides an extra layer of support for hardworking restaurant staff and we would like to thank Uber Eats for thinking of us during these challenging times.

We’ve introduced the tipping feature to help support the industry during crucial times like these, after hearing several requests from our users to engage themselves in the process as well. We believe a collective effort by Uber Eats, restaurant and delivery partners as well as you, showcases both solidarity and provides support for the industry when they need it the most.
