When requesting a ride, you select a pick-up location as part of the process and will be notified when your driver shows up. There’s no standing outside on the street checking each car as they go past – just check the ETA (estimated time of arrival) to know when your driver will show up and then wait safely before heading out to meet them. If necessary, you can also easily change your pick-up location. 

We perform thorough background checks on every potential driver before they’re allowed to accept ride requests through the app. When you request a ride using Uber abroad, you can know your driver has been verified by us, regardless of where you are. When requesting a ride in another country, you can still share the details of your trip with your loved ones or travel buddies on the app.

Once you’ve requested your ride, swipe up and tap “Send Status”. You can share a link to your trip details or you can send the info to five pre-selected Trusted Contacts immediately, including your trip details, driver’s name and vehicle registration number.
