Demand will be through the roof, so expect dynamic pricing. Let’s toast to you running a Fare Estimate in the app before you ride. To avoid the highest fares, head to the festivities early or catch a ride right after midnight.

Be sure about how you’ll pay for your trips. Know that you can change your method of payment before or during your ride but not after your trip is complete. Remember not to pay by cash or MPesa for trips completed with a debit or credit card selected as the payment method.

Use fare split if you’re rolling with the whole party or even if it’s just you and another friend.

You wouldn’t want to walk into the wrong party, so make sure you don’t walk into the wrong car. Confirm your driver’s car model and license plate in the app before you hop in your ride. And if you’re still not sure, you can always text or call your driver. Don’t forget to enter your destination once you’re in your Uber – this will lead to higher efficiency for both riders and drivers.

If you can’t find your driver or want to share more pick up information, call or text through the app.

Let your friends count down to the moment you arrive. Send trip details, which includes your estimated time of arrival as well as your driver’s first name and vehicle information, to friends or family directly through the app.

Resolve to be considerate to your driver and follow our Code of Conduct so that everyone can enjoy the spirit of the season and every ride meets our standards for respect and common courtesy.

Please note that our partner-drivers do not have control over the fare calculated by the app. In the event that you have a concern about your fare, refusing to pay or questioning your driver may not help but we would be able to provide appropriate support if you reply to your receipt or connect with us through email at support.nairobi@uber.com

If you drop the ball and leave one of your items in your ride, look for the “Track it down” link next to the question “Leave something behind?” at the bottom of your receipt for the trip.
