At Uber, we’re committed to the social and economic development of the communities we are present in, and our approach has always been underlined by empowering people through technology and to tap into the growing demands in Jordan and the Middle East region.
Since launch in Jordan in 2015, we’re proud to have been able to provide thousands with reliable and affordable transportation at the push of a button. This meant working continuously on improving our services to better serve both riders and driver-partners, and to reach as many people as possible around the country.
We are proud to have been able to provide tens of thousands of Jordanians with flexible economic opportunities through the Uber technology, and late last year, in line with his Majesty’s Vision for Jordan, we announced our goal to create 100,000 economic opportunities in the country by 2025.
Our success story in Jordan would not have been possible without the driver-partners who have been with us since the beginning, and this large network of driver-partners using Uber meant that residents in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Salt, and Madaba all had access to affordable, reliable transport at the push of a button.
We have been working closely with the government to ensure that ride sharing regulations are forward looking and beneficial for the entire industry, allowing for part time flexible work opportunity and continued investment in Jordan so that we can ultimately reach our goal of 100,000 economic opportunities by 2025.
This is only the beginning of our journey in Jordan. We are excited for what’s ahead, and look forward to making Uber as accessible as possible so that anyone, anywhere can benefit from our technology.
