Uber celebrates the cities we serve and one of the best ways to engage with our communities is to encourage riders and drivers to vote. This Election Day, we’re collaborating with and supporting the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Pune Municipal Corporation to help make it easier and more affordable for everyone to get to the polls and make their voice heard.
On Tuesday, 21st February riders will see a special UberVOTE view encouraging them to join this historical election and make their vote count. Uber is offering a flat fare of Rs. 49 to the nearest polling booth at the push of a button.
The PCMC Commissioner, Dinesh Waghmare also expressed his support for this initiative, “It is encouraging to see such new and unique ideas from Uber to celebrate the city by contributing to create awareness about the civic body polls. It would be great to see increased voter turnout with such endeavours, which make coming to polling booths easy for citizens. We appreciate this effort by Uber and I appeal to the voters of PCMC to come out and cast their valuable vote and strengthen democracy.”
Bansi Kotecha, General Manager, Uber Pune said, “We’re excited to partner with PCMC and PMC to help increase the voter turnout this year by giving our riders a seamless and hassle-free voting experience. We have extended our full support to help build awareness about the elections to our driver partners and riders.”
