Today, as we celebrate this wonderful journey of 2 years for Uber in Kolkata, we must thank our driver – partners who have worked tirelessly to get us where we need to be. Our driver – partners come from all walks of life. At Uber, they are the pulse that fuels our dream to evolve the way the world moves.

Each of them has a unique reason for choosing to drive with Uber and have their own aspirations and dreams. You may have heard some of their stories while on a ride with them, and we’d like to share a few more untold stories here.

Meet Enjamul Haque

Enjamul has been driving with Uber since September 2015 and is known for going above and beyond to offer riders stellar service. The first thing you’ll notice about Enjamal is his smile. The second is the dashboard of the car.

Enjamul keeps miniatures depicting different religions – Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Sikhism on his dashboard. He provides recharge cards, cushions, tissues, candies, bottled water and vomit bags in the car. He offers chocolate and appy fizz packs to students that get into his car during board exams – like Santa Claus for our riders!

What makes him #UberSPECIAL?

He donates a percentage of his weekly earnings to buy clothes and books for underprivileged kids. He says ‘It just makes me feel good’.

Meet Manas Narula
Manas has recently started driving with Uber. His story motivates you to never give up and be a fighter! Hearing it, you are immediately inspired.
Prior to joining Uber, Manas ran a clothing business for five years. He was cheated by his partner and lost everything that he had built. With no funds to fight a legal battle, and being left jobless; his family’s health began to suffer. Finally, he came across Uber! Determined to change his current lifestyle, he pooled his resources with the help of family and friends and bought his own car. He has been driving on Uber for months now and his fortunes are beginning to change.

What makes him #UberSPECIAL?

His determination to overcome the phase of emotional and financial crisis. He greets his riders with a bright smile and has taken up this new challenge with zeal.

Meet Imran SK

Imran has been driving professionally for almost 11 years now. He was working for a corporate post which he started driving with Uber. Looking at his superb quality ratings and exceptional trip, our team encouraged him to buy his own vehicle. He has been on our platform since May 2015.

Imran receives consistent feedback as being a fine gentleman. Here let us not mention safety becoming his responsibility. Instead let’s just say that he ensures that they have a great trip experience. Riders who are matched with Imran, are more likely to leave the car happier than when they started their trip.

Meet Arnab Saha

Arnab dons many hats in a day. He is currently pursuing B.Sc in Bioscience from Calcutta University and simultaneously preparing for his Institute of Banking Personel Selection and MBA. Juggling between studies and working part-time at Uber, Arnab is following his dream. He wants to eventually become a banker.

Arnab’s father is retiring soon and he wants to take care of the family post the retirement. He also aims to fund his own education. While surfing on Facebook, he came across Uber. Being tech-savvy and a passionate driver, he enjoys being on the platform. He has been driving since December 2015.

What makes him #UberSPECIAL?

We like multi-taskers and Arnab does a great job at it! He is a gregarious driver-partner and loves interacting with riders. He says, “Uber is bringing me closer to my dream.”
