Enabling Entrepreneurship

We announced a partnership with the TATA group recently which will enable driver-partners on our platform an integration of services for vehicle purchase and ownership.
Driver-partners will be able to buy cars like Indica and Indigo from Tata Motors using flexible financing solutions from Tata Capital Financial Services and Tata Motors Finance, and get insurance from Tata AIG.
This tie up makes it easier and more affordable for drivers to get on the road – increasing micro-entrepreneurship in India. This will help us bring individual entrepreneurs into the formal workforce, who otherwise wouldn’t have had access to formal finance and ability to purchase vehicles.

Launched first in Hyderabad, these services will be launched in other cities as well. Over the next year, together with Tata we hope to enable more than 20,000 drivers to start their own business on Uber platform.
