Bounce: Requesting a Ride For Others

This new feature allows users to efficiently request an Uber trip for someone who is in a different location. Bounce automatically sends the vehicle and driver details to the actual rider, as well as the actual rider’s details to the Uber driver. Not only does this feature improve the pick-up experience for riders, but also for drivers. Try it out and request a ride for a friend today!

Note that this feature will only be visible when the you request a pick-up location (by moving the pin or inputting an address) that is a certain distance away from where you are currently located. Thus it will not be visible on the normal ‘requesting’ screen. 

1) Set up the pickup location of the person who will be receiving the ride being requested (it should meet the distance threshold) and tap the request button.

2) Once a contact is selected, the confirmation screen will show. If the actual rider is not on the contact list, the app will ask you to enter his/her phone number and to name the new contact.

3) You can then track the trip of the rider.

4) If the actual rider does not have an Uber account, he/she will receive a series of text messages, for which the instructions need to be followed.
