
Cancellations can be frustrating for riders and driver partners alike. Therefore, in order to ensure that driver partners are fairly compensated for their time when committing to a trip, we have ensured that a cancellation fee is in place.
Here’s everything you need to know about cancellation fee:
Request when you are ready and avoid cancellations
- Ensure that your pick-up location is correct
Always double-check your pick-up location on the map before hitting the ‘Request’ button. You can move the map and drop the pin to the exact location when you’re waiting for your Uber. - Ensure that you are ready for your ride
Be ready to hop into your Uber when it arrives. With ETAs as low as 5 minutes, your Uber would most likely be just around the corner.
When will a cancellation fee be charged?
If you cancel within 5 minutes of booking, no cancellation fee will be charged. However, cancellation fee will be charged on account of
- Cancellation after 5 minutes of booking
- Cancellation fee due to no show
You will be charged a cancellation fee in case of a no-show or when you fail to meet your driver-partner within certain minutes.
– Hop into your Uber within 2 minutes of arrival of your car on a POOL ride
– Hop into your Uber within 5 minutes of arrival of your car on a non-POOL ride -

How can you clear your cancellation fee?
- Cash trips:
You will receive a pop-up alarming you about the cancellation fee that will be added to your next trip. In case of a canceled Cash trip, the fee will automatically be charged to your next Cash trip. - Trips on Paytm, Debit Card or Credit Card:
The fee for a cancelled trip booked through either of the above payment methods would appear as arrears. You could choose to clear this arrear by paying the next driver in cash or by clearing it using any of the digital payment methods before requesting.
