We’re pumped about our partnership with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and giving fans a convenient option to ride to and from Chinnaswamy stadium. With thousands of fans heading there for each match to watch their teams in action, demand for Ubers is going to be through the roof. Security at the stadium will be heightened and a few roads around remain dug up for the upcoming metro, thus limiting easy access. We’ve come with some helpful Pro Tips to make sure that Uber is still the least hassle-free way to ride so you can sit back and enjoy the game.
1. FARE ESTIMATE
Use the ‘Get Fare Estimate’ feature to avoid surprises and know what fare to expect for your ride to or from Chinnaswamy stadium. Request the option that suits you best, and get Ubering.
2. REQUESTING YOUR UBER:
With 36,000 fans going to watch the match live, demand will likely be really high for a couple of hours before the match starts and when the match ends. During those hours, getting an Uber can be tricky.
GETTING TO CHINNASWAMY STADIUM
We recommend requesting an Uber early when heading to the stadium and ask your driver the best place to drop off closest to your gate. Remember, traffic near the stadium could get a little crazy. Don’t forget to factor in the ETA and how long you’ll take to get to your Uber when you book one, so you don’t have to miss the first few overs of the match. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to hold up the match if you’re late.
HEADING BACK HOME:
Once the match ends, try setting a pickup location a convenient distance from the stadium that will let you avoid the traffic around the stadium and the road closures. You may have to walk a little, but once you’re in an Uber – you’ll be on your way faster!
3. SAFETY FIRST:
Once your Uber is confirmed, remember to check that the license number on the app matches the one on the vehicle and the driver photo matches the one that’s come to pick you up. You could also use the “Send Status” feature to share details about your driver and vehicle – including live GPS tracking, driver photo, name and vehicle license number – with family and friends.
4. SPLIT FARE:
If you thought it wasn’t possible to get a cheaper ride to or from the match, take an Uber with your friend and Split the Fare. Sharing an Uber with a friend will not only make your ride more fun, but it will also help in reducing the traffic on the roads around the stadium.
5. LOST FAN GEAR?
If you happen to leave some of your fan gear or any other belongings in your Uber, get in touch with your driver immediately. You can find the driver’s contact information linked to your trip on your account page here.
