This festive season, when you are done shopping, consider donating your old clothes, games and toys.

We are teaming up with our friends at Aasmaan Foundation to help out hundreds of underprivileged children, giving them the opportunity to learn the importance of money, expense management and most importantly, a chance to realize their personal preferences. All your donations will be used in a simulated shopping experience on Sunday, 23rd October where the kids will be given fake money that they can use to ‘buy’ the goods that they want. Not only do they get the chance to choose their gifts for themselves, but they also get a sense of achievement and self-determination.

Over the next 5 days, till Wednesday, 19th October, with the touch of a button, a driver will come to your house, pickup bags of clothing, books, toys and games that you are willing to donate and deliver them directly to Aasmaan Foundatino — all for free!

HOW IT WORKS:

Bag up items such as clothing, books, sports goods and school supplies (scroll down for the complete list) that you’re willing to donate.
Open the Uber app anytime between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM from tomorrow till Wednesday, 19th October
Slide over to the ‘AhmedabadGIVES’ option at the bottom of the screen and hit request
If your request is successful, an Uber will arrive to pick up your items and drop-off your donation free of charge.

THE DETAILS:

All donations must be bagged for drivers to accept your donation.
Please keep in mind that drivers can’t leave vehicles unattended, so we request you to bring your bagged items out to meet your driver when he arrives.
We expect demand to be super high so please be patient!
