No matter where you are on the scale, your Uber rating can always be improved. Simply follow our pro tips and work towards becoming one of our top-rated riders:
Tip #1: Choose the right pick-up and drop-off points
Else our driver partners might have difficulty reaching you, and we don’t want the experience to be sub-optimal for you or your driver partner. Please select an accessible pickup location for an ideal trip experience (no narrow alleys or crowded spaces, please!).
Tip #2: Keep calm and wait for your ride
At times when our driver partners are on their way to pick you up, traffic and roadblocks get in the way. They try their best to reach your location at the earliest, but things like these are beyond their control
Tip #3: Trust technology and follow the suggested route
The route shown in the driver partner’s phone is optimum to your destination. It might not be shortest, but it is the least time-consuming. In fact, going via a different route might actually increase your fare.
And speaking of fares…
Tip #4: Pay the final fare shown on the app
Yes, the fare estimate at the time of booking might have been different. But that could be because of change in destination, tolls, traffic etc. It’s definitely not because of our driver partners. So in case you feel there’s an issue, please reach out to us instead of taking it up with them.
Tip #5: Don’t ask your driver to make unscheduled stops
Instead, just use the multiple stop feature, next to destination section in the app. In fact, you can change the final destination as well. But keep in mind that this will result in a change of fare, which could be higher than the fare shown at the time of booking.
Tip #6: Pick the right product for your needs
One size does not fit all. If you are over 4 people traveling, call for two cars or just opt for Uber XL. Trust us, it’ll be comfortable for the driver as well as yourself.
Tip #7: Always pay your fare
Our driver partners earn an honest living through your payments. And refusal to pay is unfair to them. It’s also a violation of our payment policy and could result in you being barred from using the app.
These were our 7 tips to improve your rating. Keep in mind that If an Uber rider’s rating slips below our rating threshold and stays there, we might have to terminate the account altogether. But if you remember our tips and follow them on your future rides, the 5-star mark won’t be far away.
