Uber Taxi now offers Meter Taxi trips, bringing riders the familiar meter-based pricing.
From 9 December 2024 onwards, we have a new feature for Meter Taxi trips, which allows you to request a 15% off from the Meter Taxi driver for an even more affordable experience. Feel free to pick your most preferred ride option, based on your needs.
How to request a Meter Taxi ride?
Open Uber app, select Meter Taxi and you will be offered two options – (1) Standard Meter Fare; and (2) Option with 15% off.
Please note that (1) Standard Meter Fare is the default option, you can decide and choose if you want to ask for a 15% off on the ride from the driver.
Once you reach your destination, the driver will enter the 15% off fare based on the taxi meter. Please note that your requested discount will not apply to surcharges such as toll fees, animal fees, and luggage fees.
If it is an e-payment trip, just confirm the fare with the driver and your trip will be settled. If the trip is to be paid in cash, please pay the amount to the driver.
Tips for discounted rides:
- Consider requesting your discount for long trips or during non-peak hours as these rides might take longer for drivers to accept.
- If there is high demand, your request may not be accepted by drivers. We suggest switching to the regular full fare Meter Taxi option for your trip.
We hope the upfront 15% discount feature on Meter Taxis offers you a more affordable option and a seamless experience.
