Starting from 1 November 2025, it is required by law that all child passengers aged below eight must use compliant child safety seats in private cars, unless they are 1.35 metres or taller. Otherwise, the driver must not drive the car on any road.
How will the new regulation affect driver-partners?
According to our survey, around 20% of Uber trips involve children under 8 years old. In addition, Car Seat trips include a HK$10 surcharge#, giving you the opportunity to earn more!
How are we going to help our driver-partners in response to new regulations?
Uber will be launching two new Car Seat trip options: Car Seat (1-7yo), and Car Seat (4-7yo ). This will help driver-partners continue to provide rides for children under 8 years old under the new regulations.
To encourage more driver-partners to be prepared for Car Seat trips, from now on, driver-partners only need to purchase or self-prepare one child safety seat to be eligible for trip requests.
How to purchase child safety seats?
Uber is providing a new option to purchase one child car seat with a new incentive scheme. Driver-partners just need to purchase one car seat by October 12, 2025, following the steps below, to unlock a new extra incentive* (the existing two Child Safety Seats Incentive Scheme is still valid, but each driver-partner can only be qualified for one incentive scheme^).
Uber is partnering with two suppliers to offer two types of child safety seat at reduced prices+. Including:
- Combi SafeTrip: Foldable safety seat for 1- to 7-year-olds (black, approximately the size of a small carry-on suitcase when folded)
- Discounted price: HK$1080
- Features: Applicable to a wider age range, suitable for most families
- Applicable for Uber trip option: Car Seat (1-7yo), and Car Seat (4-7yo)

2. BubbleBum: Booster safety seat for 4- to 7-year-olds (black, approximately the size of a cushion)
- Discounted price: HK$349
- Features: compact size, occupy less space in the car, easy to store and install
- Applicable for Uber trip option: Car Seat ( 4 – 7 yo )
- Purchase Method: Purchase form or WhatsApp +852 5371 4702
Purchase Steps:
- Transfer payment as per purchase form or WhatsApp message. After the transfer:
- Take a screenshot of the transaction record or photo of the bank deposit slip
- Upload the screenshot or photo to the form or WhatsApp to the supplier.
- Once the transaction is approved, you will receive an email confirmation within 7 business days.
- The child safety seat(s) will arrive in about 1 – 2 months** , and you will be notified by phone or WhatsApp message. The safety seats will be sent to your delivery address.
- By purchasing the child safety seats via the supplier purchase forms or WhatsApp, the suppliers will disclose your provided name, email address and mobile number with Uber for assisting you to onboard the new child safety seat ride options.

As child car seats take approximately one to two months to produce, we encourage driver-partners to purchase early to be prepared.

What if I have already purchased two child safety seats?
Driver-partners who purchased or intend to purchase Uber Child Car Seat Option One or Option Two between August 20, 2025, and October 12, 2025, do not need to worry. You can enjoy the original two Car Seat Incentive scheme^, which offers a higher incentive than the one car seat incentive scheme .For incentive details, please see the Car Seat Trip Incentive Scheme chart below on this blog.

Can I use my own child safety seats?
Yes you can, Uber is providing a new option to bring only one child car seat and a new incentive scheme. If you would like to use your own safety seats, please fill in this form to submit the model name and photo of the car seat to show that it meets the following requirements:
- Complies with Car Seat group 1 and 2 (suitable for 1 to 7-year old, or 4 to 7-year-old children)
- Comply with the government’s latest legal requirements (here)
To encourage more driver-partners to use their own car seats, submit the form by October 12, 2025, and get qualified for Car Seat trips, you can unlock the below Incentive&:
Each vehicle is required to have at least one child safety seat that complies with the government’s regulatory requirements and get approved for the eligibility by Uber to be eligible to receive Uber Car Seat trips.
Car Seat Trip Incentive Scheme Details
Incentive Scheme for Child Safety Seats purchased on or before October 12, 2025:
Incentive Scheme for Child Safety Seats purchased from October 13, 2025, to October 31, 2025:
The driver partner’s applicable Uber Pro Tier will be based on their tier as of November 1, 2025.
Incentives will be added to your account within 14 working days after the driver partners complete the corresponding trip requirements.
Please note: Each driver-partner is only eligible for one incentive program at any time. For example, if you are qualified for an extra incentive scheme for child safety seats purchased on or before October 12, 2025, you will no longer qualify for the incentive program for child safety seats purchased after October 12, 2025. Similarly, if you are qualified for the One Car Seat Incentive Scheme, you will no longer qualify for the Two Car Seats Incentive Scheme or the Use Your Own Car Seat Incentive Scheme, and so on. If a driver-partner qualifies for or meets the requirement for more than one incentive scheme, the scheme with the highest incentive amount will prevail.

- Purchase by October 12, 2025: If you purchase one Combi SafeTrip or one BubbleBum with the form in the blog, you’ll be eligible for these incentives:
- Combi SafeTrip: Complete your first Car Seat trip by April 30, 2026, to earn HK$500. Or, complete 10 Car Seat trips by April 30, 2026, to earn a total of HK$1300.
- BubbleBum: Complete your first Car Seat trip by April 30, 2026, to earn HK$200. Or, complete 10 Car Seat trips by April 30, 2026, to earn a total of HK$600.
2. Purchase between October 13 – 31, 2025: If you purchase one Combi SafeTrip or one BubbleBum with the form in the blog, the above incentives will not applicable, but you will be eligible for the following Incentive:

^ “Original two Car Seat Incentive scheme” refers to Uber Child Safety Seat Options 1 or Option 2 incentive scheme (including the Upgraded Extra version) issued on September 1, 2025. Updates as follow:
- Upgrade Extra Incentives Extension: To extend the Upgraded Extra Incentive scheme issued on September 9, 2025, all driver partners who purchased Uber Child Safety Seat Options 1 or Option 2 by October 12, 2025, will automatically qualify for the upgraded extra incentive arrangement:
2. If you purchase Uber Child Safety Seat Option 1 or Option 2 between October 13 and October 31, 2025, and complete 50 eligible car seat trips, you can earn up to HK$1500 (for Option 1) or HK$700 (for Option 2):
3. Each driver-partner is only eligible for one incentive program at any time. For example, if you are qualified for the extra incentive for child safety seats purchased on or before October 12, 2025, you will no longer qualify for the incentive program for child safety seats purchased after October 12, 2025. Similarly, if you are qualified for the One Car Seat Incentive Scheme, you will no longer qualify for the Two Car Seats Incentive Scheme or the Use Your Own Car Seat Incentive Scheme, and so on.
+ The exclusive, one-time discount is only for Uber driver-partners. Each driver-partner can only purchase with the discounted price once. The promotion period is from 20 August 2025 to 31 October 2025. The discount is offered by the suppliers of the safety seat products, not by Uber.
#Uber service fee is yet to be deducted from the Car Seat trips surcharge.
& Use Your Own Car Seat Incentive Scheme:
- Each driver-partner is only eligible for one incentive program.
- If the driver-partner submits the Uber Driver Bring Your Own Car Seat Application Form between August 20, 2025, and October 12, 2025, gets qualified for accepting Car Seat trips, and completes one Car Seat trip by April 30, 2026, the driver-partner can get a HK$300 incentive.
- Applicable to driver-partners who use one or two own car seats.
- If the driver-partner submits the application form after October 12, 2025, the “Use Your Own Car Seat Incentive Scheme” will not apply.
