【Uber Officially Launching on 1 November】 Two New Car Seat Trips

Starting from 1 November 2025, it is required by law that all child passengers aged below eight must use compliant child safety seats in private cars, unless they are 1.35 metres or taller. Otherwise, the driver must not drive the car on any road.

Uber will be launching two new Car Seat trip options: Car Seat (1-7yo), and Car Seat (4-7yo ). This will help driver-partners continue to provide rides for children under 8 years old under the new regulations. In addition, Car Seat trips include a HK$10 surcharge#.

To encourage more driver-partners to be qualified for accepting Car Seat trips, Uber will also provide an additional incentive up to HK$25 for each weekend Car Seat trip##, giving you the opportunity to earn more! 

Uber will enable the relevant Car Seat trip options for all eligible driver-partners by default.  

To change your trip preferences, go to the home screen of the app and tap the Preferences icon in the bottom left corner. From there, you can select or deselect the trip options you wish to receive.

●          The black icon in the top-left corner of the offer card indicates a ‘Car Seat (Aged 1-7) Reserve’ trip, or ‘Car Seat (Aged 4-7)’ trip.

Note: Driver-partners must use child car seats that complies with the government’s latest legal requirements.

Car Seat trip fares are similar to UberX fares, with an additional HK$10 surcharge#—giving you additional earning opportunities!

Moreover, driver-partners can unlock extra rewards by completing different numbers of Car Seat trips. 

Uber is extending the incentive scheme for purchasing child car seats. Driver-partners just need to purchase car seat by December 31, 2025, following the steps below, to unlock the incentive*.

Combi SafeTrip: Foldable safety seat for 1- to 7-year-olds (black, approximately the size of a small carry-on suitcase when folded)

BubbleBum: Booster safety seat for 4- to 7-year-olds (black, approximately the size of a cushion)

, or;

2 a) Equip one or more child safety seats that meet the following requirements:

b) Ensure your child safety seats are properly installed in your vehicle. Then, upload photos of the installed seats to this link*, and fill out the form in the link.

c) Once approved, driver-partners will be notified through the in-app inbox within 14 business days.

d) Upon receiving the notification, driver-partners will be able to receive Car Seat ride requests through the Uber app, unlocking more earning opportunities.

The driver partner’s applicable Uber Pro Tier will be based on their tier as of November 1, 2025.

Incentives will be added to your account within 14 working days after the driver partners complete the corresponding trip requirements.

Please note: Each driver-partner is only eligible for one incentive program at any time. For example, if you are qualified for an extra incentive scheme for child safety seats purchased on or before October 12, 2025, you will no longer qualify for the incentive program for child safety seats purchased after October 12, 2025. Similarly, if you are qualified for the One Car Seat Incentive Scheme, you will no longer qualify for the Two Car Seats Incentive Scheme or the Use Your Own Car Seat Incentive Scheme, and so on. If a driver-partner qualifies for or meets the requirement for more than one incentive scheme, the scheme with the highest incentive amount will prevail.
