
Starting today, you can pay for your Uber rides using Android Pay! We’ve partnered with Android Pay as a mobile payment option to bring you another seamless payment experience on Uber. With Android Pay integrated to the Uber app, you will now able to enjoy the same convenience of cashless payments with added security, ease and privacy.
From now till Feb 19, you can instantly enjoy 50% off Uber Rides (up to HK$40) when you pay with Android Pay. Each rider can enjoy up to 5 rides with the discount. Limited redemptions available, so act now!
How to set up Android Pay as default payment method on Uber:
- Download Android Pay from the Google Play Store here.
- Add your credit card on Android Pay
- Make sure you have updated to the latest version of the Uber app
- Open the Uber app > Select Settings > Personal > Android Pay
FAQs:
Q: Are my credit cards eligible for use on Android Pay?
A: Android Pay is operational on Mastercard and Visa payments for BEA, DBS, Hang Seng, HSBC, and Standard Chartered. Dah Sing’s Mastercard is also eligible.
Q: Can I still apply other Uber promo codes on top of my Android Pay discount?
A: Unfortunately, no. You cannot redeem a promo code while availing the discounted rides with Android Pay. If you are entitled to other Uber promo codes, you can continue to use them after you have utilized your Android Pay discount or when the Android Pay promo period is over.
Q: Are there any restrictions on the discount?
A: Each rider can enjoy up to 5 rides with 50% discount. The promo is live until 19 Feb 2017 with limited redemptions available.
Q: Do I need to apply a promo code to redeem the discount?
A: No promo codes required. Simply set your default payment as Android Pay and you will automatically be able to redeem the discount on your next 5 trips.
Q: Are there additional charges for using Android Pay?
A: There are no additional charges.
Q: I do not see the option to set a default payment method under Settings. What do I do?
A: You can also set a default payment profile when you are about to book a car. At the booking selection screen, select Personal > Payment Options > Select Android Pay. Then you may continue to book your Uber ride.
