Many Uber driver-partners rely on Uber’s flexibility to work multiple jobs and fulfil different roles in life. Uber driver-partner Michelle has been chasing after her dream and Uber is here to help.
Michelle, a driver-partner who started using the Uber App four years ago, is also a professional emcee. “Being able to do what I am passionate about as a career is my dream. Being a full-time professional emcee in a fast-moving city like Hong Kong is harder than you think, almost a luxury even”
Michelle’s emcee job has been put on hold because a lot of ceremonies and events have been cancelled since the start of the pandemic. “Uber gives me the flexibility to make extra money, which substantially makes up for the income loss from my emcee job. Being a driver-partner allows me to continue pursuing my dream job instead of working nine-to-five in an office just to make a living.”
Michelle enjoys being on the road and not having a fixed working schedule means she can schedule things around her emcee job. “I get to meet more people and expand my network, which in turn brings me more MC gigs.”
Regulatory certainty is critical for Uber to be able to fully invest in Hong Kong and for individuals like Michelle to pursue her passion while sustaining a living. Help us regulate ridesharing, so we can bring investments and jobs to Michelle and Hong Kong.
