Steps to get a private hire licence
Step 1 - Complete Driving Test
You can book your slot online at highwaysdrivertraining.co.uk (approved by Bradford Council).
Step 2 - Get Solicitor’s Signature
Arrange with a solicitor to complete the statutory declaration. Call 0113 274 0100 to book an appointment and take along your application form, which can be found below. Also take along your driver licence, passport, a proof of address and passport sized photo.
Step 3 - Get Medical Check
This can be done by your own GP. Just remember to take along the appropriate form.
Step 4- Complete DBS
When you submit your application form, you can also start your Enhanced DBS check with the form below.
Step 5 - Submit Private Hire Application
You can call the council on 01274 434316 to book an appointment to submit your application. During your appointment, the Council will schedule both your training for and date of your Knowledge Test.

Step 6 - Complete Knowledge Test
The council will provide more guidance on the Knowledge Test.
Step 7 - Receive badge
Book an appointment with the council to receive your badge.
