That’s right – busy season is just around the corner. After the quieter summer months, we’re expecting to see a big increase in the number of ride requests, starting in September.
We’re now at the start of the summer holidays, when many people leave the city on holiday and demand for rides usually falls – so now’s the perfect time to take a break if you can.
The autumn season will soon be here and with it we’re expecting to see more riders requesting rides. In fact, last year, uberX partners across the UK made an average of £1.50 more per hour in September compared to August, after Uber’s service fee.*
Driver tips
We’ve spoken to partner-drivers who’ve been driving with us for several years, and they had these tips to share with you to help you make the most of the next few months:
“I do extra hours to make up for the quieter period. I usually work in the evenings when there is less traffic. Weekends are busier than weekdays.”
“Summer is a time for a break for everyone with or without kids – so relax and save your energy for September!”
“If you’re working during the week, only work during the busy hours – 7am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm.”
Key Dates
We’ve taken away the guesswork, and have made a list of the dates we’re expecting rider requests to be very high in cities across the UK. Simply select the city you drive in to see what’s going on over the next few months:
This post will continue to be updated with insights, important dates and tips from partner drivers that’ll help you make the most of the upcoming busy months – so make sure you check back often. We’ll also be keeping you informed through the Weekly Partner Update, emails and SMS, so keep an eye out for those too!
