Context : Traffic restrictions will be implemented for mopeds during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Paris will host the Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11, 2024, followed by the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
During this period, the Prefecture will enforce traffic restrictions in Paris to ensure the safety of residents, athletes, and visitors.
- These restrictions will surround the Olympic venues throughout the Games;
- From July 18 to July 26 until 1 PM: Paris will be divided into two zones, complicating traffic conditions on both sides of the Seine;
- Expect additional traffic restrictions during the opening ceremony (on July 26 from 1 PM) and racing events (bikes, marathons, etc.).
To support independent couriers in continuing their activities smoothly, we have compiled a summary of the confirmed traffic rules to date.
Regular updates will be sent before and throughout the Games to keep couriers well-informed of the changing traffic regulations and official announcements.

Note: Independent couriers will not be eligible for the Pass QR Code Jeux. To navigate the Olympic Games without restrictions, using a bike is required. Mopeds will be banned in certain Paris areas.
Summary
1. Traffic Restrictions Around Competition Venues
Traffic restrictions will be in effect during sporting events at each competition venue, primarily affecting mopeds. The Prefecture has designated the following zones around each venue:
- Gray zones: closed to all traffic throughout the summer (neither bikes nor mopeds allowed);
- Blue zones: moped access is permitted only for dropping off and picking up orders; transiting through the zone is prohibited;
- Red zones: moped access is strictly prohibited.
Mopeds | Bikes | Cargo Bikes | |
Gray zones Reserved exclusively for OG officials and ticket holders. | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ |
Blue zones | ☑️ Proof required* Transit prohibited – for pick-up and delivery of an order only . | ✅ | ✅ |
Red zones | ❌ | ✅ Proof may be required | ☑️ Proof required* Entry into the zones is only through specific access points for trunk checks. |
❌ – Prohibited ✅ – Allowed ☑️ – Allowed – Proof required
Here is the list of competition venues (see map below): Arena, La Chapelle, Roland-Garros / Parc des Princes, Trocadéro / Eiffel Tower / Concorde, Stade de France, etc.) during the events. Only bikes will be permitted in these zones, while mopeds are banned.

Activation times:
- These perimeters will be activated simultaneously around the venues, starting 2.5 hours before each day’s first event and ending 1 hour after the last event;
- Daily, we will share with couriers the schedule of the main impacted areas along with a link to a dynamic map for identifying additional zones.
Proof required:
- Couriers can present their delivery app on their phone with proof of an order pick-up address (restaurant, merchant) or delivery address (e.g., customer’s address);
- For moped couriers, these addresses must be located in the blue zones to be authorized in these zones.
Prioritize the bikes: it’s the only mode of transportation that will ensure unrestricted circulation during the Games.

Reminder: Independent couriers will not be eligible for the Pass QR Code Jeux. To navigate the Olympic Games without restrictions, using a bike is required. Mopeds will be banned in certain Paris areas.
Focus on the Competition Venues
Detailed maps of competition venues with their security perimeters:
2. Specific Perimeter of the Opening Ceremony (effective from July 18 to July 26)
A specific perimeter will be established around the Seine banks for the opening ceremony, starting on July 18. Several bridges will be closed to traffic depending on the day, except for the Sully, Notre-Dame, and Invalides bridges, which will remain open.
We will inform couriers of the specific traffic conditions regarding the Ceremony a few days before the implementation of the perimeter.
From July 18 to July 26 until 1PM

July 26 after 1 PM

3. Temporary Perimeters During Racing Events
Paris will also experience traffic disruptions on certain days during racing events.
We will send dedicated daily communications to couriers about the impacted areas, so they have all the necessary information on the traffic conditions.
4. Proving Your Right to Circulate
Local authorities may conduct controls in the regulated zones, during which couriers will need to justify their presence or their access request.
The use of mopeds is strictly prohibited in the red zones and is only possible for dropping off or picking up an order in the blue zones. It is strongly recommended to use a bike to avoid being denied access to certain sectors of Paris.
During a Delivery
Couriers in the midst of a delivery can justify their presence or access regulated zones directly by showing the pick-up or drop-off address of their order via the Uber Eats app. By clicking on the information banner, they will have the possibility to display the destination address, whether it’s a restaurant, a shop, or a customer’s home.

The delivery-related information is accessible by clicking on the lower banner of the delivery interface.
After a Delivery
Couriers who have completed a delivery and need to justify their presence in a regulated zone can present the details of this delivery via the income interface of the app.

The history of deliveries made is accessible from the “earnings” section of the app in “consult details” and “activities related to income”.
5. Contact Support
During a Delivery
The support contact buttons are designed to address any questions or problems related to an ongoing delivery.
Thanks to these buttons, couriers can initiate a written exchange with our dedicated team to obtain assistance within an average time of 2 minutes. Here is a non-exhaustive list of topics for which we can assist couriers during a delivery:
- Problems encountered when taking an order at a restaurant (e.g., restaurant closed);
- Incorrect or overturned order during delivery;
- Difficulties during delivery (e.g., the customer does not respond);
- Inability to continue a delivery (e.g., vehicle out of service);
- Problems related to navigation.

The support contact is accessible from the delivery interface by clicking on “trip support” from the delivery command center.
After a Delivery
Couriers have the opportunity to contact Uber Eats directly, from the web interface of the help center and from the help section of the app, to report an incident or a post-delivery concern such as:
- A safety issue;
- A problem with the app;
- A problem with an account;
- A question related to payments;
- A question related to data and privacy;
- A legal, ethical, and compliance question.
Couriers are invited to contact support from the section dedicated to the identified problem and to share all necessary information in the dedicated fields. The support will contact the couriers within an average time of 48 hours.

The “trips” section is accessible from the “help” page of the app.
6. Recommended GPS
Public authorities recommend that users of road and cycling infrastructures use GPS services from Waze and Google Maps (especially when you are using a bike) during the Olympic Games. These services integrate information on regulated zones, allowing for efficient route optimization.
GPS Update
Couriers can select their preferred GPS directly in the app settings. This feature allows them to automatically open the chosen GPS, with the destination address already entered, thus facilitating the use of their favorite app for deliveries.

The GPS selection is located in the “account” section of the app, in “app settings” and “navigation“.
7. Useful Links
Authorities have provided resources for individuals and professionals in Île-de-France to facilitate travel and operations, including:
- An interactive map of impacts on travel in Île-de-France to identify regulated zones;
- An interactive video from the prefecture presenting all traffic rules;
- A FAQ from the Paris City Hall about the Olympic Games.
