Introducing UberX with shield – rides with additional safety measures

In June 22, we are launching UberX with shield, an affordable and safe ride option that fits up to 3 passengers, now available in Prague. 

UberX with shield offers a greater sense of security thanks to vehicles that are equipped with protective shields that separate driver’s space from the back seats. Prices for the rides are identical to the UberX service. 

You still have places to go. Whether it is a family gathering, you need to travel for a work meeting or grocery shopping, go there with safety in mind with UberX with shield.

Recently, we have introduced new safety standards to ensure the maximum safety of you and your driver. 

From now on, riders and drivers are required to wear face masks. You can both cancel the ride if the other person isn’t wearing a face cover or a mask. To confirm that drivers are wearing them, we’ve added new Face Cover Check technology, that allows them to go online only in a case of having the face covered. 

You’ll now also be able to leave feedback on health and cleanliness issues in the Uber app, such as a driver not wearing a face cover or a mask. This helps us improve and holds everyone accountable.
