As Canadians gear up for a spooktacular fall, we’re back with another Nightlife Index, our annual trends report on Canadian party culture. Using aggregated, anonymized insights from Uber and Uber Eats, it tracks the past year’s late-night trends—from the cities that party the hardest to Canadians’ favourite morning-after cures.

Below are top highlights from this year’s Index:

  • Top Party Cities 🎉: London, ON reclaimed its spot as the top partying city this year, after being bumped by Toronto to second place in 2024. Following in second place is Winnipeg, jumping one spot from last year, and rounding out the top three is Saskatoon. Toronto came in fourth place.
  • Biggest nights out🕺: Canadians like to hit the town year-round, but NYE takes the spot for the most popular time to go out, followed by Halloween weekend and the winter Holiday party season.
  • Sunday scary solutions☕: Canadians agree that coffee is the ultimate go-to for post-party recovery, with hashbrowns and bagels close behind for top day-after eats.
  • Arrive in Style 🕶️: For the second year in a row, Torontonians prove to be the bougiest riders, ordering more Uber Black and Premier rides than any other Canadian city. Vancouverites are the most social riders, with the most UberX Share trips.
  • Toronto’s hot spots 🪩: King West is the place to be on a night out, taking the number one spot for the most popular partying hub in the whole city. The Entertainment district trails closely behind, and the Harbourfront area rounds out the top three.

“As Canadians enjoy their city’s vibrant nightlife ahead of Halloween weekend, it’s important to remember that just because you drove to an event doesn’t mean you’re fit to drive home,” says Laura Miller, Head of Public Policy and Communications at Uber Canada. “Whether you’re heading home or to a second location, Uber and MADD Canada support all safe ride options.”

66 per cent of Canadians agree that having options like Uber helps reduce drunk driving in their area, according to a recent Public First survey commissioned by Uber. “As you experience your city’s nightlife, it’s important to make safe choices and not drive under the influence. Make a plan—reach out to a friend, arrange a designated driver, stay overnight, use the Uber app, or take public transit to ensure a safe journey home,” said Dawn Regan, Chief Operating Officer for MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).
