You heard it– after a brief pit stop, we’re finally back to the City of Edmonton…just in time for Canada Day! Starting at midnight tonight, Edmontonians can once again enjoy the reliability and convenience of uberX at just the tap of a button!
Earlier this year, the City of Edmonton passed ride-sharing regulations that encouraged innovation and welcomed ridesharing companies like Uber. As of July 1, 2016, the province of Alberta has approved an insurance product that allows Uber to fully operate within the City of Edmonton.
How to get riding:
- Download the Uber app for iOS , Windows phone, or Android.
- Choose your ride, set your pickup location, and request.
- Meet your driver curbside– you’ll be able to track the exact location of your ride, and you’ll receive all the important details ahead of arrival, like contact info for the driver and the license plate of the car.
- Enjoy the ride! No need to worry about fumbling for cash – you’ll be charged directly to your chosen payment method when your trip is over and receive an emailed receipt.
PRO TIP: If you can’t connect with your Uber at first, don’t worry! Availability may be limited as we get up and running again. Just refresh your Uber app after a few minutes and request again– you’ll be on your way in no time.
We want to give a big thank you to riders, driver-partners, and community friends who supported us in our journey to bring reliable rides to Edmonton. We’re thrilled to be back on the road again!
