Is the public transport strike this Thursday going to stop you from getting around in Brussels?

Not if its up to Uber! As moving around Brussels will be pretty difficult on November 6, we are going to do some extra effort to make it less painful for you.

We’re offering 50% off all the rides you share with your friends. Let’s say a 10€ ride split in 2 would cost 2.5€ per person with the discount! (instead of 5€ per person). How cool is that?

So leave your car at home! More cars will only result in more congestion on the road and misery… Take a train to Brussels and use Uber to ride to your final destination.

The more people who share rides, the more can get to where they need to go! Demand will be high, but we’ll be there to keep Brussels moving no matter what. Surge pricing may still come into effect at peak hours to keep more drivers on the road, but with the 50% discount, fares will still be cheaper than any normal rate.

Awesome! How do I split the fare?

It is unbelievably simple and you can split fares between two riders or more.

After entering the promo code SHAREBXLPOP in the app under “Promotions”, you need to:

  • Request an uberPOP
  • Click on the “up arrow” icon at the bottom right of the screen next to your driver’s info
  • Select “Split Fare”
  • Choose the friend(s) you want to share the costs with
  • Tap “Send”

Your friend(s) then:

  • Tap the link in the text message from Uber
  • Your friends who don’t have an Uber account will be prompted to download the app and sign up
  • Your Uber-savvy friends will be taken directly to the Uber app
  • Your friends will need to confirm they want to split your fare

That’s it!

Sweet deal. When can I enjoy the promo?

The offer is valid for the entire duration of the strike from Thursday, 6th November 2014, 00am until Friday, 7th November 2014, 7am.  The strike should not be a reason to miss a great night out on Thursday because we have you covered until Friday morning.

Wait no more, order a ride!
