Exact prices mean no surprises

As of March 4th 2020, we will make a few adjustments to the rates of your trips in Brussels.

Know exactly what you’ll pay
We are introducing exact pricing in Brussels instead of estimated price ranges. Exact pricing will show you the exact price of the trip before you order it. This means no surprises and no complicated math. You decide what’s best for you and your budget. 

Simply enter your destination and get the actual trip fare before you request a ride*. 

UberX rate adjustments
To further enhance the experience for both riders and drivers, we’ll adjust the per-minute fare for all UberX trips to €0.30 and the minimum fare for trips starting outside the city center to €8. With these changes we aim to make our service even more reliable by improving the availability, while still being an affordable way to travel around.

Under this new fare structure, a trip with no surge from Elsene to Gare du Midi will on average cost €9.80, €0.50 more than the current €9.30.

*The trip fare shown when ordering a trip will be adjusted if the trip is significantly longer than projected, notably if your pickup location or drop-off location is different than the one indicated at the time the ride is requested, if the itinerary changes, or if the ride lasts much longer than initially estimated.

How are the new fares calculated?
Upfront fares are calculated using the expected time and distance of the trip and local traffic, as well as how many riders and nearby drivers are using Uber at that moment. When fares go up due to increased demand, instead of surge notifications and pop-up screens, you will be quoted the price of the trip, so you will know exactly what you pay before you request.  

There’s no complicated math and no surprises: just sit back and enjoy the ride!

And if you have multiple stops or have to change your destination mid-trip, don’t worry! Fares will simply fallback to the traditional fare calculation based on time and distance.
