Unlocking Vehicle Access: Splend and Uber Driver Expo

At Uber, we understand that accessing Premier and Electric vehicles can be challenging. This year, we’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Splend to host the Uber Driver Expo – an event designed to be a one-stop shop for interested driver-partners to learn more about EVs and Premier-eligible vehicles. 

We’ve already hosted two events in Sydney and Melbourne in early 2025, with hundreds of driver-partners in attendance!

Event highlights

Driver-partners had the opportunity to explore a range of electric and premium vehicles in the outdoor showcase. Some experienced on a 7-minute test drive route designed to quickly give them a real feel for models like the BMW i4, Kia EV5, Mercedes EQB, and Volkswagen ID Buzz.

Splend and Uber hosted information sessions on Uber Green and Uber Premier The various information sessions by Uber and Splend covered topics such as changes to Uber Green and Uber Premier eligibility, and how Uber’s partnership with Splend can help driver-partners access vehicles and understand how EV charging works.

Splend hosted a discussion panel featuring EV driver-partners where they shared their experiences with adopting an electric vehicle and the benefits they have seen since making the switch. They also addressed concerns that other driver-partners had and provided tips on how they maximise their earnings while driving an EV. 

At the Sydney event, members of the Uber operations team were on the ground to listen to driver-partner feedback.
