    • Number of orders: Batches can include either two or three orders.
    • Number of restaurants: Delivery people can pick up batched orders from one merchant (single restaurant batch) or two merchants (multi-restaurant batch).
    • Timing: Batches can be offered to delivery people at the same time (concurrently) or one after another (sequentially).
  • Batching improves reliability in the marketplace by allowing multiple orders to be fulfilled at once (and reduces the likelihood of orders going unfulfilled), however, delivery times may be longer than non-batched trips.

To help avoid significant delays for customers, our systems limit orders from being batched if delivery times are expected to be extensive.

  • No, merchants cannot opt out of batching.

  • Delivery People are given the opportunity to accept delivery requests with multiple orders. This may happen up-front or while they are already on a trip.
