Uber is proud to be the official ridesharing partner for Tropfest. Over 50,000 people are set to descend upon Parramatta Park on Saturday February 11th to watch the 16 finalists’ short films, meaning one very busy evening for driver partners!
Event Details
- Date: Saturday 11 February 2017
- Location: Parramatta Park
- Start time: Gates open at 2:00pm, main event starts at 6:00pm
- End time: Event ends at 10pm, so 9:30pm – 11:00pm is expected to be massive as everyone leaves the venue at once
The uberZONE: Drop-off and pick-up safely
The uberZONE is a dedicated pick-up and drop-off area to help make the trip experience seamless for driver-partners and riders.
As a driver-partner, here’s how it works:
- Enter the Parramatta Swimming Centre car park via O’Connell St
- You’ll automatically be placed in the virtual queueing system (just like at Sydney Airport)
- Pull into one of the numbered bays, as directed by the traffic controllers
- When you receive a trip request, SMS the rider your bay number
- Your rider will come to you, with help from a member of the Uber team!

What else is happening?
The LOUNGE
Riders will be able to chill out, charge their phone, and wait safely for their ride in an uberLOUNGE. The Uber team will be on hand to answer questions and help riders connect with driver-partners as they leave the event.
The CHOPPER
Celebrities and Tropfest A-Listers will be flown to Parramatta Park in style. We have helicopters decked-out in Uber and Tropfest branding to make sure their black carpet arrival is a magical one.
The TEAM
Members of the Uber team will be on the ground helping riders move from the uberLOUNGE to the uberZONE and connect with driver-partners, making it a smooth experience for everyone. Say hello if you see someone in an UBER shirt!
