PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
We require all uberX partners to meet the following conditions:
- You are at least 21 years old
- Have a SA driver’s license
- Have held your SA driver’s license for 12 months
- You have had no license suspensions in the past 3 years
- No drug or alcohol infractions at any time in your driving history
- Have a clean police record
ELIGIBLE VEHICLES
We require all uberX vehicles to meet the following conditions:
- Registered in SA
- 2007 or newer, and in good condition
- Must have 4 doors (all with external handles)
- No ex-taxis
- No buses, vans, or vehicles with more than 8 seats.
- In addition, all Ford Falcons, Fairmonts, G6s, or Fairlanes made pre-2008, or 6th generation are not accepted on uberX
DOCUMENTS WE NEED:
- Your driver’s licence
Easy. We need an unrestricted South Australian driver’s licence that you have held for 12 months or more and be at least 21 years of age. Make sure the expiry date is able to be clearly seen. Unfortunately we are unable to accept provisional, interstate or international licences.
- Proof of ID: (Passport/Birth Certificate/Citizenship/Refugee Certificate)
We need to identify you! Please provide one of these documents. Proof of ID cards do not suffice.
- Your vehicle insurance
We need a valid copy of your Certificate of Insurance or Policy Schedule.
To partner with Uber, your car must have Comprehensive or Third Party Property Damage insurance and you must be listed on the policy. Note: Green Slip (CTP) is not accepted. The document you provide must clearly show all of the following details. Contact your insurance company if any of these details are missing from your documentation.
- Name (your name as a listed driver)
- Vehicle make, model, and registration number (licence plate must match the rego certificate)
- Vehicle registration number
- Expiry date in the future and start date in the past (proof that insurance is both current and valid)
- Type of insurance (either Third Party Property or Comprehensive)
HAVE A DRIVER AUTHORITY CARD?

If you have a Driver Authority, we won’t need to do a background or driving history check which will speed up the process.
