The best Perth beaches to visit this summer

Cottesloe Beach
The perfect place to watch the sun set over the sea, Cottesloe is a firm favourite among swimmers, surfers and snorkelers. Located halfway between Perth and ‘Freo’, it’s also a popular spot for picnics and bbqs.

Scarborough Beach
Just 20 minutes’ drive from the heart of Perth, Scarborough beach is a sweeping expanse of soft white sand and clear blue water. It’s also home to to a 50 metre geothermally-heated swimming pool.

City Beach
Just south of Scarborough Beach is the family friendly City Beach, a patrolled beach with decent surf. Kitesurfing and windsurfing are popular here, and there are plenty of bbqs and picnic spots.

Trigg Beach
Known for its consistent surf, Trigg is popular with surfers and bodyboarders. This beach is spacious, so there’s plenty of room for everyone.

Port Beach, Fremantle
If you’re spending a day in ‘Freo’, make sure you check out Port Beach. The water is clear and blue and the waves are gentle, so it’s the perfect place to relax.
